ElDogg’s Goodwood Picks 03/08

horse-racing

Rubbish day’s picking yesterday so it’s onwards and upwards for today’s races at Goodwood. Loads of tasty prices to be had!

15:15 Goodwood Nassau Stakes

I’ve got to agree with everything in Gappyhilmore’s article about today’s big race and go for Integral to beat to Sky Lantern. Sir Michael Stoute’s runner showed a blistering turn of foot from off the pace to win in a listed race last time out. This should be a stiffer test and one that Integral should relish. Sky Lantern will be thereabouts no doubt but at odds of 2/1 is worth taking on in my opinion. One horse that does seem overpriced is John Gosden’s Winsili. With a step back to 1m2f to work in her favour, a step up is required from recent form but that isnt out of the question and the 25/1 at Bet365 seems a nice price for a place here.

15:50 Goodwood Stewards Cup

I fancy Kevin Ryan’s York Glory to make it a double. You can make a case for most of the runners but the way he won last time out (Shropshire 2nd) was very impressive. Loves big race handicaps and a clear run should see him bang there. 11/1 (Betfair) may be worth a punt.

14:05 Goodwood

In the first we have a very competitive handicap. The three I’ve concentrated my attentions on are hat-trick seeking Above Standard (14/1 Bet365) who is still improving, Baby Strange (25/1 Bet365) who has been around the block plenty of times and won last time out at Newcastle and Piscean (33/1 Bet365), who is 4 out of 9 in sprints at Goodwood and could be worth chancing.
